Registration is now open for the 2024 Personal Finance Summer Camp, offered by Western Kentucky University’s Center for Financial Success. The camp, targeted towards rising 10th-grade through 12th-grade students, aims to provide students with personal finance education and campus life experiences. The camp is made possible through the ongoing support of Abound Credit Union, which has pledged a three-year sponsorship totaling $75,000. This sponsorship not only covers the camp’s operational costs but also provides scholarships for attendees and expands the camp’s programming. The five-day camp will take place from June 9th to June 13th and will include personal finance workshops, leadership training, guest speaker sessions, and a financial plan case study competition.
The Personal Finance Summer Camp offers a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in financial education and gain essential financial skills. Throughout the camp, students will also have the opportunity to visit local financial firms and receive guidance and support from WKU finance students who will act as counselors. The camp aims to equip Kentucky’s youth with crucial financial skills for a successful future. The Early Bird Deadline for registration is April 15th.
