  • The Glocal Platform for Urban Finance (GPUF) achieved a significant milestone by bringing together UN representatives, investors, decision-makers, and urban stakeholders.

The World Summit aimed to strengthen the GPUF’s mandate to align finance with sustainable urban innovation and transformation. It highlighted the role of the Pavilion in advancing sustainable urban finance initiatives and showcased best practices in fostering innovation and investment opportunities in cities worldwide.

The event featured key partners like UN-Habitat, Convergence, Global CEO Alliance, CitiIQ, and EMIF Group, emphasizing the importance of collecting and analyzing good urban data for sustainable development. The University of Toronto’s Urban Data Center and UN-Habitat’s City Investment Facility also presented initiatives to support sustainable urban development efforts.

Representatives from Toronto and international cities like Kampala discussed challenges and collaborations to integrate innovations. Private sector contributions to SDGs, technological advancements, and financial opportunities were highlighted, setting the stage for future collaborations and investments.
